Jackson Heights Green Alliance, Jackson Heights Beautification Group, New York League of Conservation Voters, Transportation Alternatives, along with local elected officials City Council Member John Liu (Transportation Chair), State Senator Hiram Monserrate, and Assembly Member José Peralta, will host a town hall meeting to discuss transportation issues affecting Jackson Heights residents, specifically:
The plan would increase funding for subways and buses by creating a new “mobility tax” on payrolls and establishing tolls on the East River and Harlem River bridges.
