The Jackson Heights Green Alliance has just learned that the Department of Transportation is considering revoking our permit for the 78th Street Play Street for the month of September.
The Garden School is pressuring the Dept of Transportation to allow cars back on the street now.
This will put at risk everything the community has worked toward to create this important and much needed community open space.
In the meanwhile, please exercise caution and be aware that car traffic may return to the street without warning. We will update you as soon as we learn anything.
